The Strand Magazine is a British monthly magazine published from january 1891 to march 1950 (711 issues) in its original version (a new version of the magazine has been edited from 1998). George Newnes was the creator of the magazine but was edited by Herberth Greenhough Smith from 1891 to 1930, then by Douglas Edward Macdonald Hastings. Conan Doyle was a huge contributor with novels, short stories, poems and articles.

The Strand Magazine was also published in the United States at the same time but with sometimes different content. [dates to find]
